Dear Friend,

mother's day heart-shaped card diy tutorial pinMother’s Day is approaching (the 10th of May) and I finally was able to find some time and tackle creative projects.

Since my mother lives in a different country and taking into account the present circumstances (read: corona pandemic) we will not be able to see each other this year, so I’ve decided to send her a small token of attention.

I came up with this quick and cute handmade Mother’s day heart-shaped card.

You need like 15 minutes and just a few supplies to make one by yourself.

Here comes my easy DIY tutorial:

First things first – the supplies you’ll need for the Mother’s day heart-shaped card:

  • Pink Cardstock (or any other color you like better)
  • Red Cotton Rope
  • Black & Red Marker
  • Red Wooden Crayon
  • Scissors
  • Hole Puncher

Step-by-step instructions:

Step #1 – Draw a double-sided heart shape on the cardstock

I drew the heart shape directly on the cardstock, but in case you need a little help I have created a heart pattern since the sides need to be symmetrical.

Step #2 – Cut out double-sided hearts

Step #3 – Fold the hearts and with the help of a hole puncher make two holes

Step #4 – Using a red wooden crayon draw dashed edges inside the heart

Step #5 – Do the same on the front side of your heart shape, and on the backside draw line edge

Step #6 – Write something cool on the front side

Step #7 – Write your special message inside the card

Step #8 – Tie the cotton rope through the holes and decorate your card

And voilà, your card is finished! I sad it’s easy and quick. 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tutorial.
